Built as a bank in 1923, it has been converted into a hotel and was tastefully refurbished in 1998. The hotel's imposing facade remains an unquestionably impressive landmark on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. This hotel is quite unique, each bedroom has been individually and warmly designed. Each of the nine rooms celebrates the work of a famous Scot including James Watt, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Robert Burns and Robert Louis Stevenson to name a few.
